Charts and graphs for my 2025 reading

I forgot to add this to my favorites post last night, so for your entertainment, charts of my reading over the last decade:

The total number of books I read byyear, 134 in 2025, down from last yearThe percentage of books I read by women. I hit my target of 50% and then some with 50.7% of the books by women up from last year’s 48.9%Books by genre. Apparently non-fiction went up a lot this year as both fiction (57.5%) and poetry (5.3%) were downNew authors stayed pretty steady at 61.6% as did re-reads at 2.3% but books by authors I’ve met was up slightly at 6.8%I met my overall target of books by people of color although the mix shifted quite a bit with everything down except Latino authors, likely because I read a whole bunch of García Márquez this yearTranslations and books in Spanish. The translation count continues its downward trend (to 6.6%) while books in Spanish climbs to 8.2% a combination of realizing that I can read Spanish reasonably fluently and also a bit of a binge of García Márquez because I was reading a book of criticism of his early works
