Catholic nerd pilgrimage: Mary, Seat of Wisdom

Today I had a choice of two churches to visit, I could have gone to the Church of the Holy Spirit (today being Pentecost) or Mary, Seat of Wisdom. Since the latter was closer and had an evening Mass (I had planned on showing up for music ministry this morning, but instead gave in to flojera in the morning), I went there instead.

The church was another mid-century box, built in a highly-suburban neighborhood northwest of the city. The seven pm mass was fairly well attended with the pews nearly completely full. The music was decent, albeit a bit uninspiring and acoustics were decent.

There was a nice touch in the parish architecture where the sanctuary had been pulled forward into the nave with the original sanctuary transformed into a eucharistic chapel.View of the sanctuary from the back of the church. It was a bit dim in the church when I arrived, but the overhead lights were turned up to full brightness once the Mass began.
