Today’s saint picture is of the prophet Elisha. While the old-style designation would be to call him “Saint Elisha,” the title “Saint” for Old Testament figures always feels kind of off to me, but looking at the commemorations for the day, I couldn’t pass up on Elisha since one of his trademark stories was having God sic a couple bears on some children who mocked his baldness. As a fellow follically challenged person who enjoyed telling his children that there were bears living in the basement and that bears eat children, I felt an immediate connection to Elisha.
The drawing is my second effort at drawing on the iPad, working from tracing an image and then adding in coloring and details by hand. It feels like one of my better efforts.
