Catholic nerd pilgrimage: Saint Jerome

Chicago has two St Jerome churches but only one had Mass in the evening so I went to Rogers Park. I rushed to get there for the 6p start time and arrived a few minutes to what I assumed was the beginning of the Spanish Mass, but noticed that there was no priest in the sanctuary and none of the prayers corresponded to anything I remembered from the Spanish prayers of the Mass. Then, as I noticed someone else bringing out liturgical books to the sanctuary from the sacristy, I realized that this was a prayer service before the Mass. The actual Mass began at about 6.30 and was concelebrated by three priests and was at least partially bilingual, so presumably this was a special event and not a regular Wednesday Mass.
