So I attempted to be a bit more focused in these last two months of the year, with minimal success:
Read through We, the Rescued at least once and get my editorial notes in place: I’ve read 17 out of 29 chapters. I was hoping to have read the whole thing by now, but I think I can get this done by year’s end.
Finish two more chapters of the new novel: I’m still working on revisions for the last chapter I workshopped. I decided I wanted to do a full rewrite rather than just some minor edits, but I did at least get that done. That leaves a chapter and a half to write in December. This seems doable.
Finish body of non-fiction project: I have a first draft of the current chapter nearly finished, but there are four more chapters in the body beyond that, most of which are completely unwritten. It seems unlikely I’ll meet that goal.
Finish new story: I got at least a few words written on this. This seems potentially doable.
At least four new poems: I’ve one bupkis on this, but again, this is still within the realm of possibility.
In publications news, I had a story published in The Account this month. Two poems coming out in print next month. Loads of rejections, but a first-time tiered rejection from one publication who has previously only ever sent me form rejections.
