Writerly resolutions: July status

This was a moderately productive month writing-wise.

Graph showing progress on the novel, more decoration than informationI got fair work done on the novel, finishing the rewrite and revision work on the newly inserted chapter two, along with rewriting chapter six and now I’m doing post-workshop revisions on chapter five. Chapter two, a flashback chapter, felt like something that could stand on its own so I’ve tossed it into submissions.

I’m close to ready to workshop one of the two new stories I’m working on, and I’m making slow but steady progress on the other, which should become slightly faster progress once the first story is cleared away.

Some markets opened up this month and as punishment, they got sent my poems and once again I’m paused waiting for markets to open up.

In the world of submission responses, two poems have been picked up for publication, one in print, one online, alongside 36 rejections, but it’s always kind of nice to peek in my email and see any kind of response to submissions.
