One of the strange things with the Renew My Church process is that occasionally churches end up becoming part of parishes which have a completely different name than any of the churches that are used as worship sites. And sometimes what ends up happening is that a parish formed from two or more legacy parishes ends up keeping just one worship site and taking on a new name. Saint Veronica is one of those, where the church was originally called Infant Jesus of Prague (and the name is retained by the school), but the church is now named Saint Veronica.
When I arrived, the parking lot was completely empty and the church was deserted as well which struck me as odd since it was 8.20 and I understood the Mass to be starting at 9. At 8.30, I thought to check their website again and discovered that their daily Mass (including Saturdays) was at 9 and not 8.30. Oops.
What I had thought might be my least-attended Mass yet instead was fairly well populated with probably close to 100 people in attendance, although there was no music and either my hearing aids or the sound system were non-functional.
